ROPES CHALLENGE COURSE

Ropes course at MGCCC

In 2004 the Coalition began fundraising efforts to build a ROPES Course in Jackson County to provide a positive prevention tool for our youth. This course was collaborated with the partners on the Underage Drinking Task Force and was completed in July 2006 on the grounds of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College campus in Gautier, Mississippi. A ROPES Course is a series of supervised obstacle events that challenge the individual/groups physically, mentally and emotionally. This course is being utilized by youth, sports teams, middle school students, local business leaders, and the outdoor leadership program at MGCCC, Gautier campus.Ê For information on the use of the Ropes Challenge Course call Kim Styron at 522-1965 or Dr. Wayne Taylor at 497-9602.
